During Chiropractic school, she was the first recipient of the Richard Kimbrough Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the Georgia Chiropractic Council. The award was based on academic achievement and a written essay on patient communication. Dr. Starman was also a volunteer in the research department of Life College where she assisted in a study to evaluate the positive effects of Chiropractic Care on patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
As an Alpharetta Chiropractor practicing for over 14 years, Dr. Starman has had a rewarding practice and seen a wide variety of patients, some with very challenging cases. Some of the most rewarding have involved helping patients with severe back or neck pain who turned to chiropractic as a last resort after being told they may need surgery. There is nothing more satisfying than a happy patient who no longer needs pain medications and knows surgery is not needed in their case!
Another important aspect of her practice is helping patients to optimize their health through Chiropractic and healthy lifestyle choices. Although some patients go to Starman Chiropractic Center purely for pain relief, others are interested in moving beyond being symptom-free into optimal health and functioning. Dr. Starman enjoys advising these patients on exercise, nutrition, ergonomics, and ongoing spinal care to improve nerve system function and to prevent spinal degeneration.
Dr. Starman also very much enjoys working with athletes to overcome sports injuries, or to correct biomechanical problems to improve performance. She sees soccer players, basketball, football, rugby, tennis, golf players, bodybuilders, boxers, hockey players, triathletes, cyclists, marathon runners, cheerleaders, and equestrians, just to name a few.
Dr. Starman has received extensive post-graduate training in clinical nutrition, radiology, spinal rehabilitation, whiplash injury, extremity adjusting, physiological therapeutics, microcurrent therapy, and sports injury management.
